VAT Calculator FAQ

Is this VAT calculator free?
Yes. It runs entirely in your browser - no signup, no account, and nothing is uploaded anywhere.
Is there a limit on how many calculations I can do?
No. Every calculation happens locally in your browser, with no server calls and no usage cap - calculate as many as you need. The only practical limit is your browser's own storage space if you save a very large number to your Saved Calculations list.
What is VAT?
VAT (Value Added Tax) is a consumption tax added to the price of goods and services. It's typically shown either as an amount added on top of a price (net) or already included in it (gross).
How is VAT calculated?
To add VAT to a net amount: Gross = Net × (1 + rate). To remove VAT from a gross amount: Net = Gross ÷ (1 + rate), and VAT = Gross − Net. This calculator does both automatically depending on which mode you choose.
Which VAT rate should I use?
Rates vary by country and by the type of goods or service - the presets here are common standard rates for reference only. Always confirm the correct rate with your local tax authority; this tool doesn't provide tax advice.
Where can I see my saved calculations?
Click "Save" to add the current one to your list, then click "Saved Calculations" any time to browse, reopen, or delete them. They're stored only in this browser - clearing your browser data removes them.
